On a tense day, US military officials announced that they have recently begun new attacks on Iran. This operation, ordered by former US President Donald Trump, has a specific goal: to prevent potential Iranian attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Retaliatory Attacks and Iran's Response
Reports indicate that the US military attacked approximately 140 military targets in Iran last night. These attacks came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran attacked a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. In return, Iran has also attacked several targets in the countries bordering the Persian Gulf, sending a message that the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice due to US interventions.
However, the US Central Command (Centcom) has denied this claim, stating that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz and maritime traffic continues. These tensions reflect a critical situation in the Persian Gulf that could lead to increased international tensions.
